BACT are delighted to announce that ‘Adult Inclusive’ participant Simon Mear has gained the runner-up trophy in the ‘Power of Sport’ award for Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent.
On November 1st, the Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (SASSOT) awards and recognition evening took place at the Staffordshire County Council Buildings, with a wide range of awards and trophy’s on offer for inspirational people around the local areas.
Simon, was nominated for the ‘Power of Sport’ award in mid 2016, a prize dedicated to individuals whose life has significantly changed and improved through adopting a more active lifestyle. The prize is also on offer to those who are seen as inspirational role models to their local community, and people who have a positive effect on those around them.
Simon takes part in BACT’s Friday morning ‘Adult Inclusive’ sessions. This time is dedicated to participants taking part in a wide variety of sports, arts & crafts, and social activities with refreshments available for all.
The activities take part on Friday mornings 9:30am-10:30am at Burton Albion’s Community Hub, and are available for anyone over the age of 16, at £5 per session. People of all abilities are welcome to join in and take part in fun and inclusive games & challenges, or come and have a chat to BACT’s friendly and welcoming staff over some refreshments.
