A BURTON pub, based on Derby Road, has taken Brewing to the next level in order to help raise funds for Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT).
The Derby Inn owner, Lee Betts, decided to join forces with Wentwell Brewery following Burton Albion’s promotion to League One last year and create a new bitter named ‘Champions Bitter’.
Following the success of the Brew, Lee decided to donate 10p of every pint to BACT, magnificently selling 3,500 pints over the season and raising £350 which will help fund the new Burton Albion Community Football Centre at the Pirelli Stadium.
This season, after Burton Albion’s second consecutive promotion into the Championship, Lee has decided to do the same again, this time naming it the ‘Championship Bitter’.
He said: “We decided to brew a beer especially for the promotion called the Champions Bitter, it went down very well. This year were now going to brew another one called the Championship Bitter and again raise 10p per pint for the Community Trust as well. We’re very, very happy with the money that we raised last year, which equites to us selling 3,500 pints during the season and we’re going to see if we can do even better this season.”
