JUNE 2017 is an exciting month for Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT), as it sees the launch of its ‘Inspiring our Communities’ strategy.
Head of Community, Matt Hancock, and his workforce hope to continue to make a difference to local communities through the power of sport and the brand of Burton Albion Football Club for the life span of this three-year strategy.
The strategy was produced after extensive consultation with funders, partners, stakeholders and BACT staff and is now ready to be delivered.
BACT intends to deliver on its promise to ‘Inspire, Engage and Educate’ and the strategy is an important outline of where the trust is and where it is going. Long-standing partner, Ashfield Healthcare, has also continued as headline sponsors until 2020, extending its partnership to 10 years.
BACT’s workforce is continuously developing and focussing on its five key areas of football development, heath and wellbeing, inclusive sport, school sport and education and learning.
Matt Hancock is delighted with his workforce and the excitement that his staff have in delivering the strategy, saying: “The job that our staff do never ceases to amaze me. We always remind our workers that we are only as good as our weakest member of staff.
“There is a buzz amongst the workforce currently about the impact we are going to have locally by delivering this strategy alongside our key partners and other organisations.
“The job that they do throughout the week, at the weekends and on matchdays is fantastic and we have a really tight-knit bunch who go out their way to help each other. They’re the ones that are the heartbeat of everything that we do and ultimately inspire the people of Burton to make their environment a happier and safer place to live in.”
