BBO EVOLVE PROJECT AIMING TO HELP THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TAKE STEPS INTO WORK

BURTON Albion Community Trust (BACT) are providing a ‘Building Better Opportunities Evolve’ programme, designed to support long term unemployed individuals and to help them find the right direction into employment, education or further training.

This project is being funded by The Big Lottery Fund (BLF) and the European Social Fund (ESF). Dan Brooks, BBO Evolve Coordinator, will be available to provide career support and guidance for all ages from 16 years and above. The support provided will help to build CV’s, assist with applications for job opportunities and enhance interviewing techniques to giving participants greater opportunities of success.

Meanwhile, participants who have an interest in undertaking studying in an area of choice will have the opportunity to complete On-line ASDAN qualifications as part of the programme.

In addition to the BBO Evolve Programme, BACT are also providing FREE Football Therapy sessions called ‘Head For Goal’ that are taking place on a Tuesday between 2-4pm at the Burton Albion Community Football Development Centre (Pirelli Stadium). Sessions are designed to enable participants from across East Staffordshire to improve their mental health and wellbeing, lead a healthy and active lifestyle whilst creating socialising opportunities.

After the Easter Holidays this provision will be expanded to include our new Female Only Activity Sessions which will be aimed at increasing confidence and socialising skills within the community. During each session, participants will be gaining skills that will help with future employment.

One to one mentoring sessions are available at either The Burton Albion Community Hub or Burton Albion Football Development Centre throughout each week.
