THREE of Burton Albion’s pre-season signings, Stephen Warnock, Matty Lund and Hope Akpan, were in attendance at their first ever Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) player appearance this afternoon in Uttoxeter (26th July).
The community holiday course, that has now branched out to Uttoxeter for past two years, saw the players stop by prior to this evenings game against West Bromwich Albion at the Pirelli Stadium, 7.45pm kick off. The players were in good spirits as they answered questions from the youngsters, before each player took their time to manage their own team during a small sided games tournament.
Helen Fryer, Uttoxeter Coordinator, said: “It was great to have the three lads come to visit the course today. They all seemed in a really good mood ahead of the game that they have tonight and they were really good at interacting with the youngsters. We’d like to than the guys for coming and we’d love to see them back again. We also hope that they get the correct result tonight against West Brom.”
To end the day, the players then gave their expertise on penalty taking, as the participants battled it out to win the mini tournament.
