We are proud to announce that Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) has been named Midlands Community Club of the Year and is also shortlisted for the national award along with five other community schemes.
The Football League Awards 2016 take place on Sunday, April 17, in Manchester where the overall winners will be announced.
The regional winners and shortlisted clubs are as follows:
North East & Yorkshire: Rotherham United
Midlands: Burton Albion
South East: Brighton & Hove Albion
North West: Burnley
London: Charlton Athletic
South West & Wales: Cardiff City
Andy Taylor, head of community at BACT, said: “This is a great achievement for the football club, the community trust and all of the staff involved.
“It’s great for BACT to be recognised for the fantastic work we deliver within the community all of which would not be possible without the support of funders, sponsors and programme partners.
“We hope all of our partners and everybody in East Staffordshire and the surrounding areas are proud to be working with us.
“For us to achieve this award after only being established for five and a half years highlights even more the unique nature of Burton Albion Football Club.”
