John Jackson

John Jackson was appointed as Chairman of Burton Albion Community Trust in June 2015

Formerly John served in the Royal Airforce as a pilot before becoming a senior partner in a firm of Chartered Surveyors. During his active working life, he also served as a magistrate on the Mid Staffordshire Magistrates Bench and as Chairman of the Bench for 5 years. More recently, John served on the Board of Trent & Dove Housing in the position of Chairman.

John has played an extensive role in the local community and has been awarded OBE for services to Staffordshire. He served on the Board of Governors for John Taylor High School for many years and during that time became the Chairman of the Building and Finance Committee.

Currently, John is Chairman and Trustee of the O’Connor Gateway Trust, part of the Burton Addiction Centre and a Trustee of the Burton and South Derbyshire Education Trust.

In 2004, John was appointed as Deputy Lieutenant of Staffordshire and has represented the Lord Lieutenant at many royal events in the county
