Burton on Trent’s branch of Santander has kindly donated £5,000 to the Burton Albion Community Trust to go towards education.
The branch which is located on Burton’s High Street donated the money after recently enjoying taking part in some National Citizen Service workshops. Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) is a registered charity and an award winning organisation.
BACT deliver programmes across five main themes: Participation, Social Inclusion, Disability, Education and Health. Having such a variety of themed programmes enable BACT to be an influential partner in all aspects of the local community and also allow us to have a wider impact both regionally and nationally.
Kuldip Jamal who is the Branch Director said:
“Its important to support local businesses, local communities, we get a lot of customers who support Burton Albion. We often see them on the High Street on a Saturday before the game wearing their colours.
“So when they can see a brand like us supporting the club it also helps us connect with the local community. So its like a joint venture and its something we want to continue doing moving forward.
“We have built up a good relationship with the Community Trust and we hope that continues. I think we had 80 kids at the National Citizen Service workshops and since college/university I’ve not really connected with that kind of age group and its great to see where some of the money will be going.
“We’ve visited them and seen the fantastic work that they do with it. The team as well as myself are really passionate about this and is something we want to continue doing.”
