Burton Albion Community Trust’s new Reach Out project, which looks to inspire new supporters and improve the match day experience for existing fans, has been made possible thanks to a grant of £17,900 from the Premier League Fans Fund.
The grant will enable Burton Albion Community Trust to grow its match day Fan Zone using their Premier League & FA Facilities Fund on-site all-weather pitch, to host fun activities for home and away fans.
In partnership with local faith groups, the Trust will deliver new outreach workshops and activities to encourage and inspire new supporters. They will also develop a new Fans Ambassador scheme, with the ambassadors providing a critical link to engage the local community with the club.
John Widdowson, Health and Inclusion Manager, Burton Albion Community Trust, said: “We’re extremely grateful to receive the Fans Fund grant. This is a very exciting project which we believe will enable fans from all areas of East Staffordshire to feel part of a great club.”
The Premier League Fans Fund is a commitment from the Premier League to fund projects and organisations which improve the relationship between fans and their clubs, the way football supporters engage with each other and fans’ experience of the game.
