RICHARD WINTERTON AUCTIONEERS JOINS BACT FOR FREE VALUATION EVENTS

PEOPLE in Burton can find out if they are sitting on a fortune and also raise money for an East Staffordshire charity thanks to a free new weekly event.

Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) has come together with Richard Winterton Auctioneers to offer free valuations at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre, on the same site as the Pirelli Stadium, between 9.30-11am every Thursday, starting September 6.

Richard Winterton is a long-time supporter of Burton Albion and sponsors two games a year.

The weekly valuations will see an ever-changing line-up of experts in numerous categories offer their service free of charge to members of the public who bring in items to the hub.

Half of the commission on anything subsequently sold at auction will then be donated to BACT.

People will also be able to donate items in aid of the trust at the valuation events.

BACT, a registered charity, delivers various projects to make a difference to local communities through the power of sport and brand of Burton Albion.

The funds raised from this particular project will help develop opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of communities within East Staffordshire and the surrounding areas.

“We have a long association with Burton Albion and BACT and we’re absolutely delighted to combine to try and raise funds.” said Mr Winterton.

Well-known for his appearances on popular television shows Dickinson’ Real Deal and Bargain Hunt, Mr Winterton’s family has been synonymous with auctioneering since 1864.

The firm is based at The Lichfield Auction Centre off Wood End Lane, Fradley Park.

Matt Hancock, Head of Community at BACT, said: “We are thrilled at the prospect of these innovative and exciting events which will hopefully raise some vital funds to help us to continue to make a positive impact in the local area.

“We are really grateful to Richard for his support and can’t wait to get started.”
