GOLDEN GOAL SESSION HELPS PAIR TO GAIN CLOSE FRIENDSHIP

TWO of Burton Albion Community Trust’s (BACT) session participants have managed to gain a special friendship thanks attending a Health and Wellbeing programme at the Pirelli Stadium.

Margaret and Tony, who both attend the Wednesday morning Golden Goal ssesion, have openly shared their about how their friendship has blossomed.

After Margaret’s husband sadly passed away, Margaret started attending BACT’s weekly Golden Goal sessions. Here she took part in the activity programme which includes exercise sessions, quizzes, bingo, curling and the very competitive table tennis games.

It was here that she met former Burton Albion player Tony Bailey and have become close friends every since. The pair now go on holidays together and have found a mutual love for weekly dancing. Margaret and Tony say they’re ‘enjoying every second’ of this part of their life and are grateful for the opportunities Golden Goal has brought to them.

Lisa Beard, Community Operations Manager, said: “It’s a fantastic story and we’re glad that our session has been able to help them both find a friendship that they wouldn’t have necessarily found without Golden Goal.”
