TWO of Burton Albion’s longest serving players Damien McCrory and Lucas Akins, paid a visit to Burton Albion Community Trust’s (BACT) summer holiday course yesterday at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre 3G.

Both players, who had both played the previous night in Burton Albion’s Carabao Cup victory over Cardiff City, took on two different challenges set by the excited youngsters. The first challenge was a hit the cross bar challenge, which was won by defender McCrory, before the two joined the youngsters to take on community trust staff at a game of football-tennis. Before the players left, each participant received a free matchday programme, which the players took time to individually sign.

Nicola Mellor, holiday course leader on the day, said: “Every time Damien (McCrory) and Lucas (Akins) come, they are fantastic. We can always rely on them to get involved straight from the moment that they get here and they are a credit to the club, our community and professional footballers in general. We’re nearly at the end of our summer holiday courses now, but we’ve had an unbelievable summer and would like to thank everyone that’s joined us!”

If anybody would like to book onto our remaining holiday course day TOMORROW, at either Burton or Uttoxeter, please visit or call 01283 535938.
