My Future Goal Project Is A Big Success

The My Future Goal programme is designed to inspire and engage any individuals who are currently not in Education, Training or Employment. You are given 1 to 1 advice with opportunities to volunteer within Burton Albion Community Trust or with our local business partners.

The programme has been running for five months and has been successful. One of the successes of the programme so far is Chris Boast who started as a volunteer and is now employed as a casual coach. Chris has written about his experience with the trust.

“Since joining the Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) as a volunteer I have been made to feel so welcome by everybody in the team. I have been supported in every way possible in all areas I have been working in. My volunteer support worker Gemma Lanchester has been there every day to advise and support me when I have not been too sure on what to do next. Gemma has been on the end of the phone and also met up with me when I have needed one to one advice and support on what to do next in my sessions and sometimes in my life too. Through the help and support I have received whilst volunteering with BACT I have gained a lot of experience and met some fantastic people along the way. I have also moved from volunteering to part-time employment and I cannot thank Gemma and the rest of the team enough. I will be forever grateful for all the help I have received.”
