Burton Albion Community Trust have appointed Katie Johnson as the new Head of Community, stepping into the role vacated by Dominic Anderson last month.
Katie joined the Trust in 2014, supervising the teaching element of the Futsal & Education programme, and subsequently leading a variety of different sessions in local schools including overseeing a successful period of growth as Education Manager.
She then took the extensive role of Community Manager, working across the full scope of the Trust’s initiatives. Last season, after John Widdowson’s departure, Katie had a spell as Interim Head of Community. After a meeting of the Burton Albion Community Trust Board, Katie was unanimously approved to take the role permanently.
Phil Pusey, Chair of Burton Albion Community Trust said: “I am delighted that Katie Johnson has been appointed to, and accepted the role of our new Head of Community with the unanimous approval from trustees.
“As Chair of the Board, I am excited to work with Katie to progress the development plans that were already in the pipeline, as well as continuing to work on the joint strategy with the Football Club.
“She has the full support of the Board, and we will ensure she has opportunities to grow and develop any additional skills she may need for the role.”
Tom Mahon, Chief Operating Officer said: “As part of the Club’s leadership team, I am delighted Katie has decided to step into the role of leading the Trust. In the time I have been here, I have been impressed with her commitment, knowledge and passion, so supporting her on this next phase of her career was an easy decision to make. As a colleague and a Trustee I will do everything I can to help Katie be a success in the role and continue her positive work.”
Everyone at Burton Albion congratulates Katie as she steps up into this critical leadership role.
