BACT AND LOCAL SCHOOLS WAVE OFF THE THREE LIONS AT ST GEORGE’S PARK

BURTON Albion Community Trust along with 17 local primary schools cheered the England mens senior team onto the team bus at St George’s Park before they boarded their flight to the World Cup in Qatar.

Over 200 children from Primary Schools in the Burton upon Trent area were invited by St George’s Park to cheer their heroes such as Harry Kane, Jack Grealish and the rest of the squad. Manager Gareth Southgate was all smiles as he saluted the huge crowd.

After the cheering was done and the bus departed, St. George’s Park generously provided the indoor 3g pitch at the National Football Centre to host a tournament between the schools.

Reece Brown, School Sport Coordinator said: “Today was a brilliant day for everyone. Having the opportunity to not only cheer the England men’s first team and see them in the flesh, but also play in the National Football Centre was an absolute privilege.”

School Sport Manager Katie Johnson said: “This is a true honour. The noise when the players came out was deafening and we hope it’s something the kids will remember for the rest of their lives. We can’t thank St. George’s Park enough for the opportunity and we hope our cheering will help the lads in Qatar.”
