BACT DISABILITY PARTICIPANTS TAKE PART IN FA COACHING VIDEO AT ST GEORGE’S PARK

PARTICIPANTS of Burton Albion Community Trust’s disability football programmes received a special treat as they were invited to be a part of a new coaching video produced by the Football Association (FA).

Nine participants from BACT’s disability football sessions headed down to the Football Centre at the prestigious home of English football, St George’s Park and were put through their paces. After a training Session, they got stuck into a competitive but friendly match.

The video is part of the FA’s revamped coaching disabled footballers module. It is designed for new coaches to get into disability football and covers different aspects between mainstream and disability football.

Charles Sketchley, BACT Disability Coordinator said: “It was a fantastic opportunity for our community trust to have links to The FA and I am very proud that our players are going to be used in the new course theory work.

“From the smiles on faces when they walked off the pitch afterwards I could tell that our players truly loved the experience and I would like to thank the FA again.”

Darren Moss, FA National Coach Development Lead (Disability) added.

‘’The players were outstanding in both their effort and commitment on the evening. The footage will be used to highlight best coaching practice and support learners across the modules, we would like to extend our thanks to the Burton Albion Community Trust’s Disability programmes for their valued support on this exciting project’’.
