Burton Albion Community Trust’s Secondary Education Programme was once again honoured to be invited to take part in the annual 6-a-side Mentoring Football Tournament hosted by Nottingham Forest – marking the second consecutive year of participation in this inspiring event.
The tournament brought together student teams from across the region in a day of friendly yet competitive football, with a strong focus on mentoring, teamwork, and personal development. Burton Albion’s students rose to the occasion, displaying outstanding technical ability, unity, and determination throughout the day.
Crowning the day’s success, the team emerged as tournament winners — a remarkable achievement and testament to their hard work and commitment both on and off the pitch.
Education Manager Jayne Gidman praised the students’ efforts, saying: “We are absolutely delighted with the achievement of our students who took part in the 6-a-side football tournament at Nottingham Forest. Competing against strong teams from across the region, they demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and resilience throughout the day. To come away as tournament winners is a fantastic accomplishment and a moment, they should all be incredibly proud of.
This event was about more than just football — it was an opportunity for our students to challenge themselves, represent Burton Albion Community Trust with pride, and create lasting memories as a team.
The dedication they showed, both in preparation and on the pitch, reflects the values we strive to instil through our Secondary Education Programme: perseverance, collaboration, and confidence.
We’d like to thank Nottingham Forest for hosting such a well-organised and inspiring event, and we look forward to building on this success in future competitions. Our students have shown what’s possible when passion and hard work come together.”
Burton Albion Community Trust extends its sincere thanks to Nottingham Forest for continuing to provide this meaningful platform for young people and looks ahead with excitement to future opportunities for growth, competition, and collaboration.
