HAMER AND TAYLOR VISIT KIDS DISABILITY FOOTBALL SESSION

AS part of Level Playing Field week, Burton Albion men’s first team stars Tom Hamer and Dale Taylor visited one of BACT’s disability football session.

Ability Counts is a football session for everyone from 6-50 years that offers all people with disabilities the chance to play football, engage with other participants with a similar interest and passion to play football.

The lads joined in with a pressing drill and a game of tag before going into a match. An end to end affair ended in a 1-1 draw and plenty of smiles on faces. At the end of the session they took time to sign autographs and pose for photos with the delighted children.

Brewers defender Tom Hamer said: “It’s been a lovely evening. The kids were a delight to join in with and some definitely kept me on my toes. The session had a lovely, warm atmosphere to it and everyone was so welcoming.”

BACT Disability Coordinator Charles Sketchley said: “From what we could see, the lads definitely enjoyed the session and it’s brilliant to have them visiting our session. Level Playing field is a wonderful initiative and it’s vital that we support it.”
