Burton Albion Community Trust is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Stan Bowley Trust, who will become the front of shirt sponsor of the Trust’s Walking Football programme.
The partnership brings together two organisations united by a shared commitment to improving lives, supporting wellbeing, and making a lasting difference within local communities.
Burton Albion Community Trust’s Walking Football programme provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for older adults to stay active, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and build meaningful social connections. Open to participants of all abilities, the programme offers regular sessions, competitive opportunities, and community events that help tackle social isolation, encourage healthier lifestyles, and foster a strong sense of belonging.
The Stan Bowley Trust provides urgent support to cancer patients who require rapid access to treatment, diagnostics, and essential care. Through this new partnership, the charity will gain greater visibility across the Walking Football programme while working alongside Burton Albion Community Trust to raise awareness of the vital support it provides to individuals and families affected by cancer.
By joining forces, both organisations hope to strengthen community engagement, create new awareness and fundraising opportunities, and continue making a positive impact on the lives of local people.
Katie Johnson, Head of Community at Burton Albion Community Trust, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with The Stan Bowley Trust, an organisation that shares our commitment to improving lives and supporting people across our community. Through this partnership, we can raise awareness of the fantastic work the Trust does for individuals and families affected by cancer, whilst also strengthening opportunities and support for our Walking Football participants. Community is at the heart of everything both organisations do, and we are proud to work together to make a positive difference to the health, wellbeing and quality of life of people across Burton and the surrounding areas.”
Ian Bowley, Chief Executive Officer of The Stan Bowley Trust, added: “Partnering with Burton Albion Community Trust is a proud moment for The Stan Bowley Trust. Both organisations are passionate about supporting local people and creating opportunities that improve lives. This partnership will help us raise awareness of the support available to cancer patients and their families, while bringing communities together through a shared commitment to helping others. We are excited to be working alongside Burton Albion Community Trust and look forward to making a meaningful impact together.”
The Stan Bowley Trust works closely with hospitals, healthcare professionals, and community partners to ensure cancer patients can access the treatment and support they need without unnecessary delays.
