STEVE ORME – EXPERIENCE AS A GOALKEEPER FOR THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND VETERANS FOOTBALL TEAM AND BACT WALKING FOOTBALL

Steve Orme proudly represents the Republic of Ireland Veterans football team as a goalkeeper, while also playing for BACT Walking Football. Competing at veterans level allows him to continue his passion for football while playing alongside experienced teammates who share the same dedication and love for the game.

As a goalkeeper, Steve takes on a key leadership role within the team. His responsibilities include organising the defence, communicating effectively with teammates, making crucial saves, and contributing to the team’s overall performance. Drawing on his experience, strong decision-making, and deep understanding of the game, he provides valuable support both in training and during matches.

Representing Ireland is both a great honour and a privilege for Steve. It offers him the opportunity to wear the national colours, compete at a high standard, build lasting friendships, and continue enjoying football while maintaining his fitness and active lifestyle.

Neil Taylor, Health and Wellbeing Coach, said: “Steve has been with us for a number of years and has now broken into the Republic of Ireland Veterans team as their goalkeeper, well done. Steve has also appeared for our walking football team in their friendly league, playing in the last three games in goal.”
