BACT HOSTS FIRST EVER DISABILITY WALKING FOOTBALL SESSION

BACT hosted it’s first ever disability walking football session recently.

In a first for our disability scope of work, BACT teamed up with Burton-based Hill Lodge care home to put on the session. During the hour, the participants took on basic first time football skills such as dribbling and shooting before being put through their paces in a friendly match.

Our disability walking football is open to anyone with a disability over the age of 18 who want to play a slower version of the beautiful game and takes place at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre at 10-11am every Thursday morning.

Paul Gaskin, Community Engagement manager said: “We are delighted to be able to provide these sessions. To see the joy on their face as they kick a ball and play football, some of them playing for the first time ever, is amazing to see!”
