BACT VACCINATION CENTRE WINS CIVIC SOCIETY AWARD

BURTON Albion Community Trust has been presented with the 2022 Olga Lloyd award from the Burton upon Trent Civic Society for the Burton Albion vaccination centre.

The vaccination centre has provided over 400,000 covid and flu jabs since opening its doors in December 2020 and this month it celebrates its two year anniversary.

The award has been presented for “the provision and administration by the Burton Albion Community Trust and their volunteers, of the Vaccination Centre at the Pirelli Stadium between 2020 and 2022.”

Richard Stone, Vice President said: “This award recognises an impressive voluntary response to an unprecedented challenge. The vaccination centre continues to do amazing work on a regular basis for the community. Huge credit is due to all involved.”

BACT Head of Community Matt Hancock said: “The vaccination centre, like all our projects is something we are incredibly proud of.

“The vaccination centre couldn’t function without the immense hard work of our volunteers who give up their time and stand out in all weathers, doing their bit for the community. We can’t ever thank them enough for their service.”
