FANS INVITED TO EQUALITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION OPEN MEETING

BURTON Albion is committed to making the Pirelli Stadium a welcoming and friendly environment for all visitors and wishes to actively engage with all parts of the local community.

After this season’s annual fan survey revealed the make-up of the Brewers fanbase it was proposed at the first fan forum of the season to start an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group to help support the club’s aims.

The informal group would help advise and support the club in making sure that the needs of all sections of the community are met.

Head of Community Will Evans said: “The fan survey backed up what we already knew about our fanbase and the fact that we need to do more to reach out to sections of the community who are not as engaged with the club as we would like them to be.

“We want to understand what the barriers may be to becoming a Brewers fan and what we can do to support people who want to enjoy the great matchday experience at the Pirelli Stadium but might be unsure for whatever reason about being a part of this great family club.”

Burton Albion Community Trust will be hosting an informal meeting at the community building next to the 3G pitch at the Pirelli Stadium on October 3 at 6.30pm. This is ahead of the home game against Wigan that evening with the meeting concluding before the game starts.

Anyone interested can attend but is asked to email bactadmin@burtonalbionct.org to confirm they will be attending.
