GARRETT AND HAWKINS VISIT GOALKEEPER SOCCER CAMP

BURTON Albion men’s first team goalkeepers Ben Garratt and Callum Hawkins stopped by at our goalkeeper soccer camp this morning.

The two shotstoppers dropped by before training for some fun and games based on the most unique position on the pitch. They took the time to answer some questions about goalkeeping as well as footballing as a whole.

In the last two weeks there’s been plenty of the first team players making appearances in the community. Gassan Ahadme, John Brayford and Sam Hughes have all visited soccer camps and there are still more appearances to come!

Ben Garratt said: “It was incredible to see so many young people still wanting to be ‘keepers when they grow up. It’s a strange position on the pitch as your mistakes are intensified so seeing so many aspiring shotstoppers is amazing!”

Community engagement manager Paul Gaskin said: “The numbers on soccer camps have been huge and they’ve been so much fun to run. Having so many of the men’s first team players giving up their time and visiting them has made them so much better too!”

Our soccer camps are running all over the school summer holidays and end on August 25th. Operating at two different locations, with one taking place at the Community Football Centre and the other at Holland Sports Club in Barton. There’s lots of football fun and games on each day across our two locations so don’t miss out.
