GILLIGAN AND NIEMCZYK ATTEND JOY OF MOVING SESSION AT ANGLESEY SCHOOL

BURTON Albion first team stars Ciaran Gilligan and Kuba Niemczyk recently attended a Joy of Moving session at Anglesey School.

The two academy graduates got involved in a classroom session and gave the students some pointers on hydration before taking part in a game of flying goal posts.

Joy of moving is an EFL Trust and Ferrero UK programme that is designed for children to move through play. The children learn about the importance of physical activity, how to eat a balanced diet and how to live a healthy lifestyle.

After the session the lads were more than happy to sign autographs and pose for photos with the students.

Midfielder Ciaran Gilligan said: “I’d never heard of flying goalposts before the session but I had a lot of fun playing it. It’s brilliant to see kids learning about important things such as hydration and combining it with physical activity too.”

Burton Albion Community Trust School Sport Coordinator Louisa Abbey said: “Move and learn is a programme we’ve run for a while now and the children always take something out of the session whether it’s in a classroom or playing a game. It was brilliant to have the first team lads pop down and help the children with their hydration questions.”
