HAMER AND POWELL VISIT HALF TERM SOCCER CAMP

Training

Brewers Stars Tom Hamer and Joe Powell were in attendance at one of Burton Albion Community Trust’s half term soccer camps.

The midfielder and defender had plenty of time to sign autographs and pose for photos with budding young fans at the end of their footballing fun

The camps have been running all week and despite the strong winds and rain of Storm Franklin, followed by sun and sleet, there was still lots of time for football competitions, games ad tournaments.

Powell, who has made 27 appearances and scored four goals this season for the Brewers, said “it was a pleasure to come down and see so many kids getting involved in the soccer camps. They were all so much fun!

Hamer, who himself has made 27 appearances and notched one goal, said “I loved seeing so many happy faces today. There were lots of good skills and goals on display.”

Paul Gaskin, Head of Community engagement said “having the lads at the half term camp today was a pleasure. They were brilliant with the kids and in turn the kids loved them. Despite some of the extreme weather, it’s been a brilliant week for all involved.”
