BACT HOSTS NCS GRADUATION EVENING

BACT recently hosted a graduation to celebrate what has been an amazing summer of NCS.

The night brought together the young people who participated in the programme, their families and the staff who made the summer one to remember.

Kindly hosted by local nightlife venue Lifestyle Bar, over 100 people attended to catch up on the events of the programme and look at videos and photos to see what they all got up to.

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a voluntary, personal and social development programme for 15-17 year olds funded by the government.

Across July and August, a total of 104 young people completed a week of residential at Kibblestone Scout Campsite and a week of social action projects across Burton-upon-Trent. The first wave of 80 young people took place during mid July and the second wave finished in the middle of August.

Sarah Evans, Education and Employability manager said: “It was a wonderful night to celebrate a wonderful summer of events. The programme went really well and the young people definitely had an amazing time full of lots of lasting memories.

There’s a noticeable difference in the young people from when they started compared to where they are now and we are privileged to have played a small part in that!”.
